My father, brother, best friend, and I just spent the last week hunting North Central Kansas for pheasant and quail on WIHA only. We were hunting around Kensington and were finding quail everywhere. Never been to the area you're speaking of, but north central gets pounded, and has lost a lot of ground in the last few years. Depending on what part of SW CO you are from, you will find Unit 7 to be more wide open and less timber. There are a lot of big grass sections in unit 7. Lincoln county is a favorite of mine.
